Believe it or not, January 8th is NATIONAL BUBBLE BATH DAY.  Why not celebrate the event with a relaxing bubble bath…just like when you were a kid.  You and your children can enjoy playing in the bubbles using your imagination to make puppy ears, beards, unicorn horns…all from bubbles.  But don’t stop there. You can also bring in memories of summer by making your own bubble solution and having a BUBBLE BLOWING PARTY.  What better way to ward off the cold winter and being stuck indoors.  There is something about blowing bubbles that is relaxing, fun and making your own bubble solution is easy.

Combine 5 cups of water with 1/2 cup of dishwashing soap and 1-2 tablespoons of glycerine (available at any pharmacy).  You can bend wire coat hangers or use a plastic berry basket as bubble wands.  Why wait until summer?  Celebrate the joy of Bubbles all year round.

  1. A few years back, our library did a bubbles day. Spent two seconds discussing the science of making bubbles and then let the kids go wild with soap and different kinds of wands. It was so much fun.
