The June issue of O Magazine (pg 116) had a wonderful article about how nature can cure what ails us. Taken from the book: YOUR BRAIN ON NATURE by Eva Selhub, MD; and naturopath Alan Logan, researchers have found that regular doses of nature reduce depression, increase optimism, increase immune function and also increase the presence of cancer fighting white blood cells. The more time we spend in nature, the better off we are.
Didn’t we always know this? As children we felt great after a day playing outside. Somehow, in our busy lives we’ve forgotten the importance of the outdoors and good health. So, make a daily dose of of the natural world part of your regular schedule – even just a walk in the park or planting a garden. It’s free, and your brain and body will be forever grateful.
